As the company maintains westward expansion, BJ’s Wholesale Club announced that its first Alabama store will open Friday in Madison.
In the company’s second-quarter conference call, while noting the Tennessee debut, Bob Eddy, BJ’s president and CEO, indicated that the company has been pleased with the performance of its newer clubs and is continuing to grow its store footprint through new openings. The 27 total clubs BJ’s has opened after revising its new club opening model in 2016 contributed almost $100 million of EBITDA over the last 12 months, more than double the original projection, according to the company.
Tommy Metheny, BJ’s Madison club manager, stated, “We’re thrilled to open the Madison club, our first location in Alabama. As we gear up for the holiday season, we can’t wait to bring BJ’s unbeatable value and convenience to this community. I want to thank both our great team for its commitment to serving our members and the community for giving us such a warm welcome.”
