In a double designer debut, Crate & Barrel has introduced a new collection of home furnishings and tabletop merchandise slated for its CB2 stores and an extension of its Leanne Ford line under its namesake banner.

Crate & Barrel developed the CB2 collection in partnership with Los Angeles-based design brand Lawson-Fenning. The collection draws on California style and the Golden State’s wealth of natural materials. Designers Glenn Lawson and Grant Fenning crafted versatile pieces that invite fluidity between indoor and outdoor living, Crate and Barrel stated. Each piece in the collection, including office, bedding, lighting, tabletop and decor, as well as the outdoor contribution, is pared down to its base elements, exposing joinery, highlighting finishes and allowing the simplicity of materials and pure craftsmanship to make a statement, the retailer added.

The collection features, among other elements, luxury dining and serveware including the Half Moon dining chair and counter stools, and Sojourn Oat dinnerware.

“Lawson-Fenning designs are a perfect blend of California modernism, design heritage and artisanal craft,” said Ryan Turf, president of CB2, in introducing the collection. “It’s an ethos we’re excited to bring into our brand and, with it, continue to evolve. The collaboration features beautiful, functional pieces that spotlight materials and craftsmanship. And like the full breadth of our assortment, they’re designed to stand the test of time.”

The collection is exclusive to cb2.com, with products ranging in price from $7.95 to $3,999.

In the meantime, Crate & Barrel and Crate & Kids latest joint collection with designer Leanne Ford includes office furniture, lighting and decor as well as outdoor tabletop, planters and pillows for Crate & Barrel, and kids furniture, textiles, lighting and decor for Crate & Kids.

The Leanne Ford for Crate & Barrel Collection drew inspiration from the increased time spent at home in recent years and the importance of flexible yet beautiful living spaces across the household, Crate & Barrel noted. Thoughtful design evident in the collection embraces the need for multifunctional furniture and decor including home office items that live cohesively in any room as well as tabletop, entertaining pieces, pillows and planters that help extend the beauty of indoor space into the outdoors for day-to-day living and entertaining.

The Leanne Ford for Crate & Kids Collection brings kid-friendly design to the playroom, nursery and kid’s bedroom spaces, Crate & Barrel maintained, with whimsical and functional design in art and lighting with natural wood finishes on furniture and chic neutral décor.

“The way our customers live in their homes has shifted dramatically, and they are seeking more intention, purpose and beauty throughout their spaces,” said Crate & Barrel’s senior vp of product, Sebastian Brauer, in debuting the new Leanne Ford items. “For this collection with Leanne, we were able to create and curate unique pieces that add layers, dimension and style to our existing flagship line, which will allow our customers to mix and match and create expressive, flexible and personal spaces.”

The Crate & Barrel merchandise ranges in price from $10.95 to $2,799 while the new Leanne Ford for Crate & Kids items range in price from $10 to $1,698. Shoppers can find both groups in-store and at crateandbarrel.com.

Luxury home linen brand, Garnier-Thiebaut, debuted the Cruise Collection bed linen line at The Inspired Home Show 2022.

The Cruise Collection is made of 500-thread count cotton sateen designed to mimic a luxurious vacation getaway. The collection includes three patterns named after cities along the coast of France: Menton, Cannes and Vendée. The collection is available in four shades: bold Tangerine and River Blue and softer Silver Mist and Sea Salt. Unlike previous collections featuring intricate Jacquard or printed motif patterns, the Cruise Collection was made to appeal to a new audience, according to the company.

Garnier-Thiebaut also featured its Green-Sweet technology, the company’s eco-friendly, liquid-repellent treatment that protects Garnier-Thiebaut 100% cotton table linens from spills and stains. The company said Green-Sweet incorporates nanotechnology to preserve the integrity of the fabric.

Styles range from Scandinavian and Mid Century to even more modern looks developed to complement other exclusive Walmart furniture offerings, such as the Bohemian Flower Home and contemporary MoDRN collections.

SooHoo said Walmart customers have been spending more time in and money on their homes becaue of thr COVID-19 pandemic, and Walmart aims to provide them a wide variety of accessible, on-trend styles. Gap Home is an important part of that effort, he maintained, with more to come.

With an eye on the youth market, Bed Bath & Beyond is launching the Wild Sage own brand, which is characterized as stylish, eclectic and free-spirited, attributes it has introduced into bedding, decor, furniture, bath products and table linens.

Created for young adults, and the young at heart, as well, Wild Sage offers consumers a chance to express their unique personalities, Bed Bath & Beyond asserted, just in time for the back-to-college season.

Designs in the Wild Sage product lineup ranging from bedding to bathmats have a global influence and affordable prices, with table linens ranging from $5 to $25 on the low end and furniture ranging from $50 to $150 on the high end.

Bed Bath and Beyond is introducing an integrated marketing campaign to support the Wild Sage launch that will include direct-to-consumer print and email collateral as well as blog posts, video and other content for social media, paid digital media placements, paid affiliate content and public relations support. The retailer has developed dedicated Wild Sage content for Instagram and TikTok channels. An influencer content series will invite a mix of Gen Z partners to create their own Wild Sage-inspired stories during a road trip across southern California in a custom-designed Airstream trailer and, later, to execute home projects.

Bed Bath & Beyond noted that it designed Wild Sage to attract one of its five key customer segments, the Creatives, a group of socially savvy Gen-Z and young Millennials who value experiences, self-expression and authenticity. Creatives tend to move more frequently and believe that a home should tell the unique story of its inhabitant, the retailer added, so bedrooms should set a vibe, bathrooms should have personality and kitchens should be full of creativity and family tradition.

Wild Sage is the fifth of at least eight private label product lines Bed Bath & Beyond will introduce in fiscal year 2021, with more possible. The launch of new own brands is a key pillar in the company’s comprehensive three-year transformation strategy, during which it will launch more than 10 owned brands. According to the retailer, the new brands represent its biggest product assortment change in a generation, delivering exceptional quality and affordability across the key categories of bedding, bath, kitchen and dining, storage and organization, and home décor.

Earlier this month, Bed Bath & Beyond was busy rolling out three new private-label lines, Our Table, Wild Sage and Squared Away, as noted on this site.

“Wild Sage speaks to our young, fashionable and on-trend customers looking to express themselves and create a personal space that tells their unique story,” said Joe Hartsig, Bed Bath & Beyond EVP, chief merchandising officer, and president of the company’s Harmon Stores operation, as he introduced the own brand. “Your home should be an expression of you — your experiences, your travels, your sense of humor, your energy — and your decor should reflect that, whether through a colorful rug that reminds you of an unforgettable destination you’ve explored, or an eclectic mix of throw pillows on your sofa that evokes your personality.”
